Information
Course Goal
The HP9000 Maintenance Course is a 5-day technical training
course, which will prepare students to operate and maintain
the HP9000 desktops and servers. This course is intended
for Field Service and Support personnel.
Course Content
Upon completion, students will be able to:
Identify HP9000 desktop and server models
Describe the key features of the HP9000 systems
Identify, remove/replace system components
Interpret power-on sequence and identify errors
Use GUI and command line commands to obtain system
status and configuration information
Isolate system hardware faults to the FRU using
LED's, command line commands and diagnostic tools
Research component part numbers and replace faulty
FRU's
Course Scope
The course includes the following products:
HPUX 10.2/11.X
HP9000 desktops: 712, B132L, B1000/C1000, C200,
J280, J5000, J6000
HP9000 servers: D, K, L, N
Support Tools Manager (STM), System Administration
Manager (SAM), Install Tool and Common Desktop Environment
(CDE)
Course Prerequisites
Fundamental knowledge of computer hardware/software
components and experience troubleshooting computer systems
is required. UNIX experience is desired.
Course Length
HP9000 Maintenance is 5 days. Class size is limited
to 10 students.
