Information
Course Goal
The Sun Enterprise 10000 Maintenance Course is a 5-day
technical training course which will prepare students
to operate, configure and maintain Sun's Enterprise
10000 server.
Course Prerequisites
Ultra Enterprise Server Maintenance Course
System Administration Workshop I
System Administration Workshop II
Course Scope
The course includes the following products:
Sun Enterprise 10000 Server
Solaris 2.8 (Solaris 8)
Sun 4u class workstation (SSP)
Course Content
Upon completion, students will be able to:
Identify Sun Enterprise 10000 server's key features
and benefits
Describe the Enterprise 10000's architecture and
components
Remove and replace server components
Install Solaris and configure multiple system domains
Analyze power-on/boot sequence and identify errors
Install and configure the System Service Processor
Understand the Hostview GUI
Configure, retrieve and interpret Power-On Self
Tests (POST), and diagnostic menus and routines
Configure Interdomain Network
Configure a system for alternate pathing using MPxIO
Isolate server hardware faults to the FRU using
LEDs and diagnostic tools
Remove and replace components in a live domain using
Dynamic Reconfiguration
Research component part numbers and replace faulty
FRUs
Course Length
Sun Enterprise 10000 course is 5 days in length. Class
size is limited to 8 students.
