Information
Course Goal
The course introduces students to tape library systems
typically used within Sun enterprise environments. The
ultimate goal of the course is to provide the student
with the skills and knowledge necessary to support Sun
tape libraries.
Course Prerequisites
The Sun Desktop Maintenance Course and/or Solaris Administration
Workshop I are recommended. Equivalent Sun field experience
is acceptable.
Course Scope
The course includes the following products:
Sun L280 Tape Library/Autoloader
Sun L20 Tape Library
Sun L1000 Tape Library
Sun L3500 Tape Library
Course Content
Upon completion, students will be able to:
Properly connect the Sun tape libraries to Sun systems
Use OK Prompt and Solaris commands to verify status
and interact with tape libraries
Operate the tape libraries using the control panels
Disassemble and reassemble the tape libraries
Interpret diagnostics tests and error codes and
troubleshoot the tape libraries
Replace Field Replaceable Units (FRUs)

The course length is 3 days.
